Bharti Airtel received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Karnataka LSA, regarding a penalty of ₹2,12,000.
The penalty is for alleged violation of subscriber verification norms, as per a Customer Application Form (CAF) audit conducted by DoT for April 2025.
According to the license agreement, Bharti Airtel is required to ensure adequate verification of customers before enrolling them as subscribers and comply with DoT instructions.
The company has decided not to contest the penalty and will pay it.
